BAFA Confirms 2026 National Leagues Structures, Schedules and Finals Details

BAFA Chair

The British American Football Association (BAFA) have confirmed the divisional alignments, league schedules, and Finals details for the 2026 BAFA National Leagues, powered by Union Jack Classic.


The 2026 season officially commenced in March with the launch of the Youth Flag Football League, and this week, BAFA have confirmed full details across all national competitions, including:


  • Mixed Adult Contact

  • Mixed U19 Contact

  • Mixed U16 Contact

  • Women’s Contact (National Women’s Football League)

  • Mixed Adult Flag (National Flag Football League)

  • Youth Flag (Youth Flag Football League)


Schedules, Results & Standings


Teams and BAFA will keep these updated throughout the season via their respective LeagueRepublic, which can be found at the bottom of this article.


Player of the Month Initiative Returns


In partnership with Union Jack Classic, BAFA will award a monthly “Player of the Month” initiative throughout the 2026 season.


Clubs across all competitions will have the opportunity to nominate standout players, with shortlisted athletes featured across BAFA and Union Jack Classic digital channels. Selected players will also have access to exclusive rewards and experiences.


2026 BAFA National League Finals


BAFA is excited to introduce a refreshed Finals structure for 2026, alongside new venues and the return of Bowl Game Finals for Mixed Adult Contact Division One and Division Two.


U19 Division Two & NWFL 7’s Finals


Date: 15th August 2026


Venue: Staffordshire Rugby Club, ST16 2TT


Four teams will qualify in each competition, competing in semi-finals, a third-place playoff, and a Championship Game.


U16 & Mixed Adult Division One and Two Finals


Date: 29th/30th August 2026


Venue: Staffordshire Rugby Club, ST16 2TT


The U16 competition will follow its established format, featuring both Plate and Championship brackets on Saturday, 29 August.


Division One and Division Two Bowl Games return, after a one-year hiatus, with Finals taking place on Sunday, 30 August.


Britbowl 38 Weekend


Date: 5th/6th September 2026


Venue: Nick Newbold Stadium, Coventry, CV1 3GE


Saturday will host the U19 Division One National Championship Game, followed by the Women’s Premiership Final.


Sunday will feature the Mixed Adult Contact Premiership Final for Britbowl 38.


Flag Finals


Date: 12th/13th September 2026


Venue: Nick Newbold Stadium, Coventry, CV1 3GE


Saturday will see four qualifying finalists across the National Flag Football League’s National, Premiership, and Division One tiers.


Sunday will showcase the Youth Flag Football League as four qualifying teams from each age category go head-to-head.
